Is it permissible for a non-profit union to charge dues?

I'm a partaker of an operation that have a non-profit, tax-exempt status contained by the state of Arkansas. Recently, the populace running the body hold contracted to start charging mandatory dues for political leanings. Is this allowed? I be below the outline that they didn't enjoy the power to do this lacking risking revocation of their non-profit status.

Answers:
Sure they can charge dues. Being non-profit method they can't product a profit that they intervene on to others, but they still hold to break even. If they couldn't collect money (and didn't procure donations) they'd be bust pretty promptly, non-profit or not.
yes, they can, but after they would hold to spend that money someplace else.
