Answers: From what I've hear, one of the worst equity investments one could make today are in U.S. Airlines (especially the 'legacy' carrier that have these huge jet fuel & labor costs). (Then again, I don`t know you have an airline in mind that you quality good about)...
According to Jim Cramers latest book, the $$$ contained by avation is going to come from the emerging markets (there are Chinese cities with a million plus nation that have NO airservice at present), and he believes the best way to gain in on that is to invest within Boeing, since there aren't many companies on the planet that can build the planes that these countries have need of (plus Boeing has a military component where they can construct profits as well). Of course, the possibility exists that his opinion has changed since the book be published.
Anyway, unless the individual carrier has a direct stock purchase program (like Disney & Coca Cola does), later you need a broker to buy the stock, either an online portrayal like Etrade or Scottrade, or through a traditional broker).
Well first you need to unseal a brokerage account. Usually people clear from online brokerage firms. Like Scottrade, Etrade or others. There are a lot of online brokerage firm to choose from. Then, you can buy your shares. Well this is just my inference, as oil price rise, airline shares will suffer. But, hey i could be wrong. Good Luck I wouldnt bother with this -- they are risky

I would use interactivebrokers.com. They have low commissions $1/trade for stocks for example. give the name an airport and see if you can have one
