What make US dollar "strong"?
or..what makes any currency strong?
Answers: when the government have a balanced budget, and it sells more exports than it import, also foreign investment in the dollar has to be elevated, competition from the Euro is destroying it.
I'm assuming this is a hypothetical as the dollar is far from strong. If you think of this country as a business, it is the type of business you'd be willing to invest within? The answer for many people would be no. It have too much debt, is being run by a president who is is spending too much money on things that are of no importance to the very well being of the country as opposed to making infrastructure investments.
The dollar would increase within value if this country got it's spending and debt below control.
it is dropping like a rock in expediency . the bush administration has stopped publishing the M3 numbers . why ? why do they disallow to inventory America's gold supply ?why did Nixon take us sour the gold standard ? has it adjectives been looted ? why did the govt give up the control of printing money within 1916 , and turn it over to private bankers of the federal reserve system ?(yes, the federal reserve system is a private outfit , not a government one ) greenbacks are worthless . hoard food . the Great Hunger approaches . Lo , i see a pale horse and its christen is death (Rev) . its relative price in relation to other countries. this is importantly influenced by interest rates. if a country has a high interest rate relative to other countries interest rates, general public are more likely to invest in that country, which lead to a strong currency for that country.
what makes a doller strong is the econmy and how much money the contry is in debt. also the gold ingots that is in the bank that make paper mony worth somthing. If the econmy is fitting and the debt is small then doller is strong. this goe for any contry. the US dollar is falling to the euro. The euro is strong because the countries that are using the euro generally enjoy a good economy at this point.
The dollar isnt strong, its weaker than the Euro, and the British pound is still stronger than both.

well the US dollar is not as strong as it use to be in the 10 years it's becoming smaller number and less every day. i don't know exactly why but ya. It's effectiveness compared to other currencies, based on various financial, political, social etc. factors.
I don't know but someone better find out quick or we are going to enjoy to do like mexico and just move the decimal place. The single saving grace of the US$ is that fact that grease prices are in USD. If OPEC change to EUR (Euros) later you are in deep doo doos.
