Three big restructuringefforts and is the Eurotunnel beneath the English Channel doing any better?
Read in July that the cost over runs and traffic predictions are catching up next to glum investors. Perhaps as time pass we adjectives forgive the untested motivation for connecting France and England by tunnel.
Anyone take out the "why" for this project?

I remember surrounded by the mid-80s reading in the region of how the chunnel would "integrate" England into the rest of Europe. Buses and cars would zoom through the tunnel in a partly an hour.
Well, no cars and buses. Constant horror threats. (They know just about those during planning due to the IRA.)
However, it's built and will not be "unbuilt" or cast off. The policy convinced private investors to throw away their money. We can transport the Eurostar.
