Depends on what you are looking for. Both are moral for different reason and different circumstances.

Stocks hold more growth and smaller amount income.
Bonds enjoy more income and smaller quantity growth.

Bonds are better. Stocks are risky.
"Asset Allocation" & "Diversification".
Stocks and bonds work together in an overall investment plan. Each have a role. Read some books on the subject. Having the right "asset allocation" is more influential than picking the "right funds", stocks or bonds over a lifetime of investing.

However, from my experience, frequent billionaires invest in stocks. Bonds are great if your of late commencing to swot investing, but as you mortgage I suggest you switch to stocks.
