When you are trading stocks, you want to hold your transaction fees as a small percentage of your average netgains. I am trading in/out $1000 positions and own $10 buy/sell transaction fees. So on respectively buy/sell, 2% of my investment is going into fees. My choices of stock investments involve to produce an average netgain (sum of gain and losses) of more than 2% for me to break even.
Keeping impossible to tell apart ratio, if your buy/sell trading fees are solely $4, you could do $400 positions. This adjectives assumes that your buy/sell trading system will produce the required netgains. Remember, it is easier to loose money in the flea market than it is to trademark gain.
