Why doesn't a stock chart's graph other show a huge fly of tumble for a stock split ?

In a 3 for 1 split, shouldn't the chart show the huge drop within price per share on that year? And contained by a 6 for 1 reverse split, shouldn't the chart show a huge gain in stock price for that hours of daylight, the light of day the stock split?
