Yes, if you cram enough going on for it, have plenty capital, spend satisfactory time at it, and follow good money and risk running plans. I have never tried to label a living it at since I have other had an fair income elsewhere.

For learning more or less options I suggest you start near the free tutorials at

http://www.cboe.com/LearnCenter/default.

After that, I suggest you read one or two good books just about options trading. Any of files at

http://www.cboe.com/Institutional/Biblio...

should be good. My favorites are

McMillan, Lawrence G.: Options as a Strategic Investment, Fourth Edition

Natenberg, Sheldon: Option Volatility and Pricing, Revised Edition

but you should scan as oodles of these books as you can and pick the one(s) you are comfortable with.

I will also mention that one option author, Mark Wolfinger, is a regular contributer to the Yahoo message board at

http://messages.yahoo.com/Business_%26_F...

as "dagnyt". (Mark is a former market architect and now is a retail trader.)

If you are interested contained by his books you can find them at

You can take as much or as little risk as you want. I muse you will find most professional traders usually pick spreads less risky than simple stock positions.
Hi,

Why are you surrounded by such a hurry to get rich high-speed?

Staying away from trading options derivatives will preserve your blood lower and your sanity intact.

What's wrong near investing -- not speculating -- for the long term , and getting rich slow?

Use the time importance of money and compound interest to your advantage.

Did you know if you invested a measly $228 for 60 years, at an average annual return of 15% you'd hold $1 million?

That's the time value of money and compound interest at work. :)
