In tons companies a few investors own massive blocks of shares that are not traded on the stretch out open market. Float shares are those shares that are traded, usually by private investors and funds.

The total number of shares traded on a time of time
Average Daily Volume
The average number of shares traded respectively day
Shares Owned
the total number of shares owned by an individual, or in some cases, the total number of shares of a company that are owned by investors.
These are US lingo so I will try to maintain to American.
The expressions assume a share address list on a top souk; a share when quoted will be traded.
Float give the actual number of shares deem to be contained by the hand of the public, which is smaller number than the number of shares issued. Shares will be sold rear legs and that give you the volume (number of ) shares traded on a daily basis, which can be compared near ADV for 3 or 10 days, which is simply the culmulated total of shares sold divided by the number of days traded over. So you can see if trading volumeis up today.
