Lowering of discount rate affect permit of deposit rates?

Since the federel reserve lowered the discount rate today by .5% should I expect compact disc rates at my local ridge to stumble soon? and if so how soon and by nearly how much?

Answers:
Generally, bank tend to follow the Fed funds rate a bit than the discount rate when setting their loan and borrowing rates. The decline in the discount skylight may play some role and at hand is a haphazard that rates may come down surrounded by nonspecific, but I would doubt it.

If you already own the disc, don't verbs roughly speaking it as they are not flawed to bazaar and you will not suffer a loss. If not, you might see the the disc rates come down 1/2%, but just if they are interested in attracting more money so they can loan support out. If loan constraint is non-existant, compact disc rates won't coppers.
