Is it possible to move from operation to middle organization smoothly inside Investment bank?

besides tons middle office job are no longer on the trading floor.
It's very difficult... I've see it done before, but lower than extenuating circumstances. Ops is generally considered a dead-end duty, and it doesn't afford very tons attractive exit opportunities.
