What is the average cost of an Ambulance ride if your insurance wont cover it?

Answers:    It depends where you live, in some areas the Ambulance is free. The bigger problem is the vivacity flight. Some Insurance only gives you $3,000 per year for ambulance and helicopter. One vivacity flight can be $50,000. The EMT's have a standard protocol to call the helicopter depending on the mode of injury. If someone is knocked out or goofy from a head injury, they automatically get the heli.

I had a client that just now received an ambulance ride that was a total of 110 miles, his bill was almost $6,200. Pretty pricy! its tons like 2,000-6,000. I remmeber seeing a show where some individual had a stroke and there insurance be activating, and they wouldn't accept it. it's extremely expensive!
Not sure surrounded by all cases.

Medicare accepts almost $300 per mile, each way.
They turned down a billing for $800, 1 mile round trip.
Paid $600.
