Cheaper Car Insurance For Teenage Drivers?
Can you help. I priced car insurance for my 16 year outmoded son, and my premium will almost triple.
I know all of you will post that he should just obtain a job, and that is fine, but I want him to release money for college, not to make an insurer rich. OK?
Answers: Well, I am amused by the lady who basically figures her kids are covered because they have sanction to drive the car. I have to look into that.
But surrounded by general, insurance rates are determined by age, driving history, localtion, the type of car, and driving customs.
You can find discounts for good students, taking driver's ed or driver's safety classes, have a safer car, and installing safety and anti-theft devices. You can also achieve a good discount for combining policies like home and auto discounts.
Here are some tips to compare insurance, and to find cheaper sports car insurance for teenagers.
I agree with alot folks below, but the most accurate one is the one about covering your son below your policy by adding him as an additional driver. Insurance works within this way: the one who is titled to the cars, is the one who must be the insured to the policy. So if your son doesn't own his own car, next he should definitely be "an additional driver". Yes, your premium will rear, but its your job to keep that boy surrounded by line about not speeding and not have accidents.
If it were me, I would not make available children under 18 a license to drive in the first place. They are still rash, and cannot handle emergency situations behind the reins. I've seen lots of adults in this attitude but adults are financially responsible for the problems they cause. Children go hiding bringing up the rear their parents and make your rates outrageous. I would shop around with several different companies. Sometimes you can truly start over with a new insurer for smaller number than you are paying your current company. It's always worth checking into. Also, you can get huge discounts if your son have good grades and has taken driver's ed. Some companies even submission additional discounts for students.
Unfortunately, boys under 25 are extremely expensive to insure. All you can really do is be sure to attain all the discounts you can, and get a cheap used motor so you can get good liability coverage short needing comprehensive and collision. Then have him rate as the primary driver on that vehicle.
OK. Here is a kick in the head- If you get car insurance and it says right contained by the policy that anyone else driving your car is also covered in luggage of an accident (as in lend the car to your sister or parent while they are visiting) then guess what- YOUR TEEN IS COVERED ALREADY.
This is the big private insurance companies will not tell you- if your name is on the coup¨¦ the kid drives then you can have them covered beside your existing policy and you do not have to buy seperate insurance for the teen driver.
Insurance is such a scam! We have never put any kid on our regular insurance policy and both their cars are under our names so we enjoy never had to pay that ridiculous robbery of an insurance premuim - and this was suggested to us by the only honest insurance sale person we ever met.
I will answer the question floor on the rules applicable to our country, Philippines. A 16 year old cant drive a car till he get the legal age of 18. In the interest of premium charges, most insurance companies here charges almost the same premium however some would donate lesser than others in baggage the car subject for insurance is brand new. I compensated for my own insurance since I was 16 and still saved for college because it made me financially resposible knowing i have to pay bills, and am now better because of it. but first if you are elderly enough try to get AARP. I am enjoy a 2004 Mustang with one accident and no tickets and am 19 near full coverage for $100 a month, other than that shop around and see if anyone will give him a flawless student discount. But i think that in the appendage you should have him pay for a time of it, it won't kill him.
this will be true with almost any insurance you grasp. i recommend still getting good coverages though when you buy insurance, otherwise if he gets contained by an accident. you will wish you have earlier. Check online & compare quotes. Good luck.
