Is it decriminalized for my independent child to be covered underneath my coup¨¦ insurance policy?

My insurance company is telling me something roughly speaking my daughter being 26 and should not be beneath my car insurance more or less some liability issue. Does someone know about this or can refer me to some information resources? Thanks for your assist.
