Does a former employer receive updates on laying-off insurance?

I quit a living (base employer) for numerous object and departed for a smaller competitor,in a couple of months the company have gone out of business. I've thought nearly starting a business in one and the same industry. I'm currently on laying-off and own thought more or less conitinuing to receive the checks until I certainly build some money. Since I'd enjoy alot of matching contacts as my stub employer, I KNOW they would find out I'm put a bet on surrounded by the Industry. I know they be first sent the notification I be going on dismissal, but will they also know the duration I'm on severance. I definetly don't want to carry within trouble but I've get two mouths to nurture and I discern approaching this is my simply providence to procure ahead, but I'm terrified my foundation employer will know I'm within the Industry working and collecting severance, which method they'd report me and I'd be contained by trouble, which would not be polite.
