Health insurance, disability, and grad college?

Hey everybody
I hold a interview. I own quadriplegic intellectual palsy and am currently living at home and on my parent’s condition insurance. However in June I plan to move out for grad institution. Due to my disability getting my own insurance will be really expensive. I really want to be capable of verbs to be covered on my parent’s plan. Does anyone know in the region of this? We enjoy a telephone call contained by to our company but I thought I would ask here too. Also does applying for SSDI affect this in any passageway?
Thanks
Eva

Answers:
Yes, applying for SSDI will affect it - once you're on SSDI for 27 months, you're eligible for MEDICARE. It's also notably possible that due to your disability, you'd be eligible NOW, any through your state's CHIP program, or directly beside Medicare, or a soaring risk state program - because NO ONE is going to contribute you a private policy, near the CP I'm sorry to say aloud.

Are you sure you're not on any type of SS immediately? Normally, you would hold be eligible, okay, pretty much since birth. Which would be apt for you, because THEN you don't own that 27 month waiting length . . .
If you capture SSDI, you will find picked up by any Medicare or Medicaid and they will wage for your medical effort though I don't know if in that is a co-payment for that. Check w/ your agent to see if you can stay on your folks plan given the disability. Good luck
Here are other option -
1. Check beside your parents' insurance agent. If you are a dependent, you may know how to stay on their policy, even though you don't live near them.

2. Check next to the university. If you are a full time student, you may be capable of seize cheap strength insurance through the university. (I go rear for a Master's at age 39, and compensated one and the same premium as the rest of the students. The premium for respectively SEMESTER be smaller number than 25% of what I would enjoy have to salary through COBRA every MONTH.)
