Recommend...what does that be going to?
I applied for a MBNA card, I was denied, I called and spoke to the credit department to clear up a few things and the guy on the phone said that he would recommend approval.They said they will know within 2-4 days.does that mean I will get approved? Or does the guy contained by the credit deparment not carry much weight?
Answers: It seem that he was suggesting that you get approved. He may basically have to speak to his supervisor and explain why you should not have be declined. He is in the credit department, so I am sure that he have some say in decisioning loans/credit lines. You will purely have to wait and see what the outcome is.
Recommend money about as much as "Pre-Approved" does. In other words it does not have much consignment. Unless you called a specific person and not basically the regular 800 number, you talked to a regular customer service person who does not really own much say in approvals.
So it is one of two things. Not to speak that you won't be approved, but the second one is probably the more likely one.
1. They actually do enjoy another department who will need to review your application to see if you are approved. In which case you will find out within about 2-4 days.
2. You are still declined and they touch it was better to give you a standard answer a bit than tell you over the phone. If you were decline they will send you a letter stating the source why.
