I am sitting here and wondering why on earth do you need a free trial if you enjoy the means to buy a $10 domain name from a reputable site similar to GoDaddy. Buying the domain is the EASY part, it's the hosting part that bites.
You do not inevitability a "trial" to "test" it out. Just buy the damn name and hosting for a year, and see if you like it. If you close to it, then renew, if you don't, then agree to it die. You paid more for a "free trial" than a domain name and a year of hosting from reputable companies.
It's the hosting that you "might" want to try out, not the domain designation. They're two separate things. And if you do want to test it out, most hosting companies offer monthly plans, so the best leeway for you would be to buy a domain name and try and find a reputable company that offers monthly plans.

There's no such item as free domain name -- unless you have committed to settle up for hosting fees with the company
And why $135? Domain names at GoDaddy singular goes for $8.99 per year. Surely, if you are serious on starting a website, you can afford less than $10 investment
