Do NSF charges effect my credit?
When I lived in montreal in 2004, I have an account in Montreal next to Desjardins and rarely used it. When i moved to ottawa,3 years had passed and when I looked-for to increase my credit limit they informed me that I had 3 NSF charges on an justification. They could not tell me which account it be so they couldnt increase my credit limit. I thought hard going on for it and thought perhaps these charges were coming from my prehistoric, rarely used "still active" account contained by montreal which I thought I had closed.
It turns out, I had $200 charged to my description in NSF charges and apparently its on my credit file. The character who I talked to on the phone informed me that she tried everything she could to contact me and that even though the account be not being used, it was still "active".
I would love to know if NSF charges (even if you put money into your explanation the day after they appear in your account) stay on your credit report.
I would resembling to have some NSF answers!
Answers: Alone no. If you have a item come through your checking description and you just forgot but you get an NSF tax as a result of them covering it for you and you put money into the account right away no. If you have NSF fee's that you never cover afterwards they might send them off to collections at which time they will report it to a credit bureau. My guess is since you said you didn't use this rationalization alot since you moved which was 3 years ago (for whatever plea the NSF charges were there) they sent it to collections and that is how it get reported.
I would like to recommend you possess as much information as you can before taking management, here is a good place for that purpose.http://creditreport.expertsupport.info/a...
