You lend money to individuals who can't afford it (charging them extra because they can't afford it!), they find it difficult to repay and end up being re-possessed. Answers: It's not a crisis. The London stock exchange crashing would be a crisis. We're being hit by a slight recession, which the media are sensationalising as the "Credit Crunch".
The providers of loans are merciless contained by reclaiming debts and yes I agree that more knowlege should be provided by lenders regarding interest. However it's not easier said than done to understand that if you earn 14k a year and need to embezzle a 20k loan out, of course it's going to take a while to retribution it back. I think some population dont understand that only 15% of their stipend is disposable income. People need to learn to live inwardly their means.
With lenders giving out mortgages that were 8X annual salary, I think it starts with them, but you enjoy to question the intelligence of people who borrow money next to repayments of lb1000 per month.
