Bad credit rating?

Hi,
i know that i have a bad credit rating, behind time payments on credit cards and ive applied for lots of credit.
But yesterday, i was told that because id made more than 3 behind time payments on credit cards (up to date with payments but some were freshly a little late) that i wont be able to attain credit from anyone at all because its '3 strikes and yur out' ie, 3 late/missed payments and no1 will touch you. I have jus enter a debt management scheme to take-home pay off all my debts inwardly 3 years which is fantastic, BUT i was told that this 3 srikes and your out thing will be on my credit record for 6years and so no1 will give me any credit until after that.

Is this true? As i was hoping that maybes inside a couple of years my job situation will be better and i can clear my debt quicker, and start saving for a mortgage, but i dont want 2 hold to wait 6years from now.

Can any one explain al this to me please, and also, is their any agency i can go about repairing my credit directory?.

Answers:    The details will stay on your file for the period of time within is nothing you can do about that .

You requirement to rebuild your credit and yes you are right re the credit card .

Capital one are the best place to try .

Also you will be able to go and get credit you will just be paying a higher than average APR .. contained by some cases up to 49% apr .

Personally i would not rush into it as yet and open a reserves account with a ridge as this reflects on your credit scoring .

A contract Mobile phone also helps your credit rating
Join a credit grouping and start saving modest amounts. It'll show that you can have money and resist the draw to blow the lot.
You can also get credit from your union when you do requirement it, and while it won't be enough for a mortgage it will be evidence of 'financial responsibility'. Hopefully, you're working with a debt arbitration specialist. They can usually dwindle and/or eliminate a lot of your debt. This does, however, affect your credit rating. Simple answers? Don't buy what you can't afford. Never take on debt counting on your opportunity prospects improving.

The real problem is 'I don't want to hold to wait'. Until you fix that you'll always be in debt.

Good luck near the debt management scheme. If it's a big loan to spread the current debt out over a longer time be deeply wary of taking on further CC (or any other) debt as that'll just put you right support where you were next to debt problems AND you'll still have to make payments on the loan.

Why can't we christen them DEBT CARDS instead of CREDIT CARDS?
I joined one of these schemes and yes it does stay on your directory for six years, luckily for me I only have two more years to walk. I was able to return with a joint mortgage with my husband within 2006 but I cannot get a loan, credit card or even a cheque guaratee card or cheque book, I only hold a cash account beside cashpoint card, it is really unfair as I have worked so concrete to sort myself out but sadly there is nought that can be done, once it is recorded it is there for 6 years

There is a method to repair your credit file but you have to wage to have it altered, I will see if I can find website and add it.
the channel to good credit is through paying off the debts you enjoy accumulated. cut up all credit cards except one the one next to the lowest interest rate and the one with the least amount credit available. for instance if you enjoy a card that has a 200 dollar limit hold that one it easier to pay off if you max it out. it usually take about five years to clean up your credit so don't carry caught up in any of the scam about cleaning up credit any faster. try not to apply for anything else that brings your credit score down feebly. write letters to all you owe and ask them to drop interest rates, postponed fees and over the limit fees from the balances. set up giving plans and keep your word and pay prompt. these tips should help you GOOD LUCK! You are not the only being with poor credit in North America so don't slump for all the BS about not person able to get credit or haveing to lurk 6 yrs before being competent to repair your credit. The reason why secured credit cards were created is because within are many people only just like you that need a mode to repair credit and get on with natural life.

My husband and I changed banks because when we were first married he have a student loan that he'd never made a payment on (thus his BAD credit) While every other bank shook near heads we found that the Credit Union in our nouns was willing to work near us to better ourselves and our credit ratings. He told us that if we opened an account next to him and banked there for 3 months he would after give us a loan to pay stale our bad debt and build up good credit. After 5 months we be able to go surrounded by and get a mortgage because we'd proved to him that inspite of our previous credit ratings we could handle our clean debt etc. Perhaps this could work for you too.
Late payments and more can be removed from credit scores.

Late payments certainly hurt your credit win. So can debt management programs (at least within the short run), depending on the type of program it is.

Without knowing more about your specific circumstances, it would not be appropriate to comment on whether there be (or still are) viable alternatives to debt management.

However, if you have already begin that process and your creditors have been notify, stick with that plan.

Don’t worry. You do not own to wait years and years for them to come off your credit reports.

If you do nil, of course, they will stay there; but if you become pro-active, you can remove them.

A reputable credit restoration service can support you remove a wide variety of derogatory entries from your credit report, including in arrears payments, charge offs, collections, judgments, foreclosures, repossessions, tax liens, student loans, child support, etc.

So a few delayed payments, if that is all within is, should not be much of a problem. However, it might be premature to start a credit restoration program, because (again depending on the nature of the debt management program), your current debt management/reduction program will probably appear on your credit report.

That within and of itself can be a red flag to lenders and might keep many from issuing you hot credit cards.

However, there are “specialized” lenders out there who aid people with credit issues develop polite credit. Look for some that will give you a “secured” credit card, or a card that comes with an begin obligation (small, maybe $500 or so).

Be measured, because they are usually lending at relatively high rates. However, if you secure this type of card and pay it off monthly, it will develop a positive trade stripe for your report.

Since the lender is fully secured, you should be able to obtain one or more small credit cards of that type to start building a positive credit history.

This means of access you can generate a couple of years of good credit history that will stay on your record after the derogatory listings own been removed.

That should help.

Good luck!
You're not the solely one. I don't have a credit card, but it is useful to know that someone will tender you money in an emergency situation. Still, I've resisted. An emergency situation could soon be 'I need lb50 on a dark out'

This isn't a lecture, but by explaining how you got into this mess will lend a hand you get out of it. You've recognised it yourself already.

People use credit because they are impatient, greedy or want to 'keep up with the Joneses'. That's the first entity to recognise. Some disciplined people use it to boost a credit rating, but mostly they could afford not to have a credit card. If you own to buy something on credit - fact is: you can't fully afford it. People don't like facing up to this. It's a criticism of the reality that they don't work hard enough, or live contained by a deprived area or something like that. Not human being able to afford something or buy your kids something is a horrible feeling. This isn't fully true, some people are disciplined and can pay it rotten. But lots can't. To qualify for business and powerful credit cards - AMEX Black and so on, you need a lot of income anyway.

You have a bad credit rating, because you don't pick up for things and you buy things you can't afford with someone elses money. Then, when you promise to pay it stern, you don't. In purely black and white terms, a computer says you are not trustworthy. You pinch money and don't pay it back. It's not only one mistake, but lots of opportunities. The computer doesn't care for reason why.

Someone with a good credit rating, borrows money and consequently pays it back in time. Or ahead of time. I don't mind lend someone that kind of money. Or, they borrow money, it occurs interest and afterwards they pay me back. I close to that person even more, because he is making me a profit.

So, the only path you can repair a credit file, is to borrow and pay stern in time, or with better interest. If you can't do that, you have need of to be patient.

Patience is the key. You are surrounded by debt because you don't like facing up to not being competent to afford things. For whatever reason, you want it very soon, rather than save for it. You right to be heard you 'don't want to wait six years'. It's this attitude that will get you surrounded by debt again. You need to be patient, liberate and take your punishment.

Ok, sounded like a moralize, wasn't meant to be, but you're in a serious situation because you've seriously not thought more or less your spending. But... you may have been trapped into a corner to overextend credit. You may own good reasons why - put food on the table and so on. But whether you did, or whether your money have gone on clothes and cars, it's impatience that got you in the trouble and restraint that will get you out.
