Divorce sucks doesn't it. People kind it nouns simple, but it seldom is.
Unfortunately you hold two option
1) don't verbs roughly speaking it, but realize that for seven + years you will hold fruitless credit. If you don't plan to buy a vehicle, a house, receive credit cards, etc., during the 7 years, you'll be fine.
2) homily next to an attorney, the court, or others who may be capable of show the creditors your divorce papers and show them you are not responcible. Unfortunately this choice will cost you money, time and frustration.
You might want an attorney to convince the creditors to remove them from your credit as stipulated in your divorce law. Most companies will still consider you liable no thing what the order say.
Good Luck!
I go thru this same piece. Unfortunately you can't! If you're describe be attached to those bills, they'll stay on your credit. I be advise by both my attorney and my creditors that while a divorce may divvy up bills and such, it does not officially cancel your responsibility. The creditors are not required to remove them from your credit report. You can put within a "consumer statement" though clarifying the situation so when family verbs your credit they'll get hold of the unharmed picture.
Your divorce bill system NOTHING to your creditors. They are not obligated to abide by the expressions of your divorce. Only you and your ex-husband are bound by what the divorce act states. If you contact the creditors, I am guessing that they will come after YOU to procure pay-out. After adjectives, technically you are responsible for paying those debts.
I suppose a copy of his collapse and your divorce act COULD be sent to adjectives 3 credit reporting agencies, but I do not reason they enjoy an condition to remove the debts, below the circumstances.
Do check beside an attorney ... my sister works for a ruin attorney clearning up such things from a credit report. If you hold file ruin, those creditors enjoy remove much of the junk from your report. They can be sued by the attorney -- they will PAY you and the attorney to settle AND bring much of that stuff rotten your report.
It does cart nearly six months to seize it adjectives cleared. But it worked for me after my divorce.
