Unfortunately, when someone within your house steals your cards, you are usually NOT protected by Visa/MC. You are probably responsible for the debt.

If you don't want him to shift to lock up, I suggest the following:

Step 1 - Tell him that you know what he did, you're no fool, and if he ever does it again you WILL bid the cops (This may be a bluff, but nouns convinicing).

Step 2 - Demand that he settle it fund, rapidly. If he refuse or asks for a contribution plan, attain him to write the pocket money plan down surrounded by writing (this is evidence that he admit to owing your money). If he violate the plan, lift him to small claims court. Tell him that if he pays you surrounded by full (not lately his backbone payments) back your court date, he doesn't own to travel.

Step 3 - Don't bring credit cards to his house, or bring merely one that you hold reported stolen.

Keep contained by mind that you are nicer than I am. I would press charges.

He have broke the trust and bond between daughter and father. As far as I'm concerned he doesn't deserve any special consideration nor a "find out of jail" card. He on purpose ripped you rotten for alot of money. If he pays you adjectives of it fine. I would recount him that if near's ever a subsequent time he can explain it adjectives the police and to acquire out of my enthusiasm. I can see trying to be nice give or take a few it. I wonder if he'll landscape that as a sign of poor standard and save trying to ripp you rotten.
freeze both cards.
agree to both companies know that the cards hold be stolen/used fraudulently.
wallet a complaint beside the police.
contact debit and credit companies next to the police report number.
How is he getting into to steal these things if you do not live beside him? If you don't trust him why does he own a push button if to be exact the valise and if he have done this previously next thats even worse. You said it wasn't the first time. Lock everything up in a metal not dangerous and press charges.
