Something thats not on your credit report?

my boyfriend get his 3 credit report( the one from adjectives 3) powerfully for times past month somone(collection company) keep calling truism he owes on an electric bill from 1999, but he have never have a electric bill surrounded by his nickname, he be singular 19 at the time, and the address they bring up to date him where on earth the bill (electric) is from a house that have never existed-we check it out, and he have a friend contained by the statute enforcement, and they said their is no such address, or their have never be such , and its not even on his credit report, but they describe him his SSN, and birthday, and its right, and they preserve calling,

how can they do this? and what can we do around it one false-counting it hasn't even be on his credit

Answers:
enjoy the company communication or fax you adjectives of their info that they enjoy on it
He should bring back a notification from the electric company, indicating that he have never owed them a bill, and submit that next to a communiqu¨¦ to the Better Business Bureau and complain just about the collection agency. He should also convey a communiqu¨¦ to the Consumer Protection Division of his state's attorney generals' bureau and ask for an investigation and resolution.
are you sure the collection agency are legit? I dont really know the US equivalent but in the UK, you can check a companies legitimacy through trading standards. This will relay you if someone is trying to run a scam on you...apt luck!
It's one of two things. Either a collection agency bought a bunch of highly behind the times debt and is skip tracing trying to measure the bushes for allowance or it's a scam trying to panic or bug you till you present them money or doesn`t matter what.

Get an address for the collector and transport a note, certified post, return receiving requested. Indicate the debt is not yours and request detailed written proof that this debt does belong to you and if they cannot provide such proof, to never contact you again. Keep a copy of the note next to your defining financial papers.

They will any only be in motion away or will trade the debt rotten to another agency. You would enjoy to transport a communiqu¨¦ to them. Don't chitchat to these those on the phone.
Unfortunately collections folks are a) rewarded on commission and b) lied to constantly, so they tend to be pretty hard-nosed something like this stuff.

If this debt is from 1999, it is outside the statute of limitations for reporting on his credit. It may or may not be outside the statute of limitations for him to be sued over.

He wants to try and return with the term and address of the company and his sketch number. Maybe he can convince them to post him something (doubtful) or he can simply write down the autograph and request their address. He'll probably hold to be particularly demanding because, as I said, they carry rewarded on commission so its easier when someone newly give surrounded by and pays while they're on the phone.

Once he have the company's address, he can write them and notify them no more phone call. Personally, I would convey this communication certified messages returned taking. Then, if he get a hail as after he receive the green slip, he can sue the company for respectively beckon. He can also use that information to convince the company to stop calling.

He can also request the company show proof that this is his statement, how he owes this money, how he owes it to THEM, etc. Or, if he isn't contained by difficulty of individual sued, he can also explain to them not to contact him by phone, e-mail or any other method, as the commentary isn't his and they enjoy no right to collect. Period.

If commotion doesn't stop on the statement, you can turn the company over to your state Attorney General, or you can sue them contained by small claims for every contravention of an assortment of tolerant credit act.

Very frustrating - angelic luck.
