Any recourse after disservice from American Express Blue Sky?
9 of us have dinner at a nice restaurant. An 18% service charge be added to the bill. The service be great so I added a touch currency to the tip. We split the bill 3 ways.
I be surprised to see two charges from the restaurant on our credit card statement. The first be for our share of the bill. The second be an new charge beside the notation "tip." My wife call American Express to complain. They refuse to suspend or remove the disputed charge. This seem unheard of. The explanation, confirmed within a note from them, be that since we have with good grace given our card, the charge be lawful! They added that they enjoy a contract beside copious vendor that not adjectives charges require a signature.
