Location of a company - how to choose the best spot?

how would you find the best spot to place your company? Obviously depends on the type of company but what are the main factors which influence your choice? I know of the center of gravity arithmetic from management classes but this is, in my evaluation, the best way to find the best place.
Answers: I remember one famous guy (Mackay I don`t know - not sure) who advised looking at the problem as if you were an alien from another planet. Meaning forget around how other people do this and look at where the open market is, what stuff you would like to be near, where on earth space is the cheapest; etc. Just look only at the logistics and costs and open according to that.
