It's not that big companies won't hire the best and brightest. It's that most companies are looking for a individual beside far more after an luxurious GPA or enriching history. When I interview a nominee, I am looking for personal experience as economically as instruction. You can be the top of your class, all the same if you hold no personal skills, you are of no use to a main corporation. Extracurricular endeavours go and get only just as much attention as schooling and work history today.
