Please facilitate near sick file?
hi ive been off my work since tuesday near viral infection i got my partner to phone in cos i really couldnt even speak to anyone on the phone and get him to tell them i wouldnt be in for the rest of the week.
i dont know if i should capture a self certificate or a doctors line.
my doctros told me i can self licence for 7days? and then get a doctors flash?
what does that mean will i get remunerated?
please help thanks i thought it be you didnt get paid for the 1st 3 days and consequently you do for the rest of sick period?
Answers: It depends on your contract whether you need a doctor's entry or not. Some companies let you self-cert for three days, others for five, and others for seven.
It also depends on your contract what you get rewarded - some companies pay full pay, and others foot SSP.
Bottom line is - go read your contract!
You involve to go to Doctors. If your company doesnt offer sick rate for your role, then you are still in smudge to claim SSP (statutory sick pay). However to do this the Doctor has to have signed you past its sell-by date, but your employer is under no obligation to provide sick wage, SSP is a government funded payment similar to a benefit and is paid for through National Insurance contributions.
You are allowed to self certify for the first week. Any period nearby after should be backed up medically. A word to the wise...most employer take a dim view of have someone else phone in sick for you. They usually have a clause surrounded by the contract around this. You might be leaving yourself open to some grief for your procession manager if you dont speak to them yourself. However no employer can sack you provided you get the sick data, so if youre going to be ill next week procure on the phone after youve been to the Doctors.
I'm not sure if it's different for every company policy, but our company is as follows:
Full pay for the first 3 days
SSP (Statutory Sick Pay) for the rest of absense.
Must provide Sick Note after 7 days (including weekends) of person ill.
Hope this helps, and hope you're thought better soon :)
It all depends on your company's policy. Most companies do not pay unless you own sick time hours available. just go to the doctors and draw from a sick note...then it is officeholder. if you get paid depends on your company policy
Any time of year of absence over 7days you need a drs. make a note of. You should get paid for adjectives of it.
