Nurses or Nursing sudents please answer!!?
Ok! I have enrolled at a University to start nursing institution this fall. Only problem is that I will miss the deadline to apply for my second year of schooling because I have to retake some math courses. I am 24 and want to be capable of make a decent amount of money to live on until I am out of institution. So the real question is.do I step for my LPN that only takes 11months or hang about out the 5 years of schooling? I will have my BSN one day but I obligation something now and for the next couple of years while I am within school! I AM SO SICK OF SERVING! I have applied to nursing homes and daycares but adjectives I have is serving and management expierince? Help!!
Answers: I be in your same situation. I got my LPN and it have helped me in my art so much. I was hired as a nurse administrator in a hospital (less clinical work, more organization work) and they are now PAYING for my BSN/RN. I work normal hours, net over $20 per hour and LOVE IT. I highly recommend getting your LPN as a stepping stone to other degrees (and even BSN/RN surrounded by the future).
I'd go for your LPN. You can test out when you apply for RN conservatory, you will have experience going into it, and be able to construct a decent wage while going to RN school even if you individual work part time. When you look for employment after LPN school, clear sure you apply to employers who will pay for adjectives or part of your schooling. Employers esp. hospitals WANT you to have your RN and most proffer at least partial re-embursement for your tuition. If you are going to have down time, it cannot hurt you to enjoy an LPN license, and can only provide you with option for employment and work experience when applying for positions later.
Make the most of the delay. I own known other students who have spent a year taking art and PE clases waiting for their subsequent rotation, so you are making a positive out of a negative situation.

I am soon to graduate LPN school in June and I would say aloud to go for your LPN while you are waiting. Once you graduate LPN school within are special programs online and classroom programs where you can get your RN within about another year and you can get a BSN contained by about another 2 years or less depending on how much college you already own or whatever you can CLEP out of.
