I want to become a CNA. I am a prior EMT-B of 3 years. Do you imagine I could go past the exam minus a class ?

I be an Emergency Medical Technician for 3 years. I want to become a CNA. My belief is, since I know something like the medical pen and I am awfully booksmart, I estimate if I purchase a CNA study book after help yourself to the state interview, I ruminate I should know how to overhaul it. Anyone agree or disagree on that?

The CNA testing is supposely confident. I in recent times don't see paying $300 to $1000+ to bring a class when I could probably ace the oral exam.

Answers:
It depends on the state - most permit you tryout out lacking taking the class.

I never worked in the medical paddock, didn't hold the class, and took the assessment for the CNA and passed earlier going to nursing arts school for my RN. It doesn't hold a wonder.

But you will want to know the tested bits and pieces. My state's board of nursing website contained a pdf database you could download of the entire CNA carrying out tests brochure that contained adjectives the skills that you could be tested on during the practical exam, and down how to get something done them correctly, step by step, and which elements be critical to carry out correctly if not you would instantly fall through the skill. It also included a taster exam for the written portion - amazingly kind! It be almost as suitable as taking the class, because it told me everything I needed to know.

Contact your state nursing board or strength department to see if they hold a similar packet of info. Good luck!
The problem is...you CAN'T embezzle the exam in need completing a class.

Check next to a community college.what you hold programmed as $1300 sounds approaching it's from some scamming junior college.

It's a 6-week program, adjectives daytime long.
I hold be a CNA for 15 years. Are you sure to be exact something you really want to do? It can be so tiring and stressful. Anyway, you could smoothly overhaul the oral exam, but within MI, you hold to show proof of the class taken since you are allowed to lug the tryout. Most community colleges hold this course and it solely take more or less a month. Good luck!
Unfortunately, you inevitability to give somebody a lift the course to know how to sit for the check.

It's not concrete to become a CNA, but in that are skills that you will want to practice past you can apply them to patients. They aren't difficult skills, but neither are EMT-B skills, and I'm sure you remember the loads of skills practice you have to do contained by class to go by EMT-B :)

There's a world of difference between the EMT-B training, and CNA training. One, is unmistakably focused on the direct pre-hospital wants of the tolerant (stabilize and transport). The other concentrates on long residence precision and organization of chronic sickness. There is some overlap, but not ample to win you out of taking the course.

Booksmarts are great, but they don't cause up for hands-on skills practice. I can sympathize; I abhorrence taking classes that I surface are unnecessary, as I can go beyond most test by lately simply reading the relevant substance. In this defence, however, the class is called for.

Hope this help :)
yep, only proclaim a scope from the national enquirer.
