How does one become a Dental Hygienist?

What are the requirements? How much time in college, can it be a Community College? What is the average stipend? Any secondary information greatly appreciated!~

There is a 2 year training program and a 4 year training program. Requirements differ in some states. After person trained you rob a standardized check and clinical practicum to return with your license.

My wife is 4yr one. Worked since 1974.

Requirements for her included;

A pre dental hygiene cirriculum in a 2 yr or 4 yr college which commonly take two years to achieve, but probably could do it within a year and a partly.

Then you apply to a dental conservatory who have a dental hygiene training program and that take 2 years full time.

Then you rob the license exam. If you go beyond, you can work for a licensed dentist.

The four year program give you a four year's BS scope and will result within you earn just about 50% more than the 2 year AS degreed hygienist.

If you work full time 40-50 hours a week beside a 4 year level assuming you are skilled and pretty you could start at at tiniest $50,000 per year contained by most states. If you work within S. Calif you could double that by your second or third year, again if you are well-mannered near family and exceptionally skilled.

It is mostly a womanly profession corral, but within are a few males.
Look into some school because some of them donate a bachelor's level contained by it, similar to Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (www.mcphs.edu)...My friend is surrounded by their accelerate program for a bachelor's and it will singular help yourself to her 3 years instead of 4.I contemplate they also enjoy other option as economically. If you be considering a community college, I'm not sure if they proffer any amount programs, but you could possibly pilfer the prequisites for the bachelor's resembling english 1, english 2, history, etc and after verbs...but it may be easier if you find a college resembling MCPHS that will bestow you your bachelor's surrounded by it within three years..smaller number time surrounded by college and smaller amount money to own to settle...
