Answers:    The private college thing will honestly probably only just make you stick out resembling a sore thumb. Fast-food does not equal prestige. You will be underpaid, harrassed, and come home as a slimy greaseball. I would say apply for fast-food as a first errand to get some experience, but not a hell-hole close to McDs. Unfortunately, I don't think too frequent of the decent fast-food places hire society under 16. Unless you're really desperate, I would keep on it out and enjoy your ending days of freedom until you turn 16. If not, there may be some waitressing job, like Pizza Hut, that may hire 14-year-olds; but I'm not positve in the order of that.
A place is what you make of it. People who dislike working at McDs would probably hate working anywhere. Be sure that you don't consent to your school work or your sleep be harmed by your hours on the assignment.
