Why is the Apple commercial so potent?
What makes the simple two person relationship so important in promoting Apple over Microsoft? What subliminal messages are in this commercial?
Answers: PC is older and insecure; he just does what he's other been told to do. Apple is younger, confident, smug and smart. (Research shows that Apple users tend to be very much close to him.). PC has problems due to his disjointed nature.
PC is an elder generation, on his way out. Apple is the latest optimistic generation. Any 16-34 year-old guy wishes to be like Apple, PC is like his dad.
Because it is funny, so viewers in fact watch. Only a small percentage actually buy, but a small percentage of several million viewers is still deeply. Most commercials are less interesting, so viewers instead go to the bathroom, mute the nouns, get food, check to see what is on other channels, etc., instead of watching the commercial. Because 100% of nil is zero, a commercial with no viewers accomplish nothing. I question your premise. Is Apple's poster effective?
What percent of market share does Apple computers hold versus Microsoft / Intel computers?
Sources on the Internet put Microsoft's market share at some where around 90 percent. And that includes not solitary Apple but Linux as well.
So it is true that the Apple commercials are popular and many infantile people are attracted to them and Apples brand, I'm not sure if they are effective plenty to threaten Microsoft's position as the number one computer software company in the world.
It demonstrates and promotes the generational differences between the two "this is not your parents computer" type thing. Kind of close to what Oldsmobile used to say "this is not your dad's olds" . This is effective because what do teens and infantile adults have technologically that parents don't own or aren't familiar with? Nothing really, except the MAC. Uh.
Apple only just shows off its superior technological capability.
Vista using computers have put themselves to shame enough, Apple doesn't even enjoy to bash it.
Obviously I own a macbook.
I like Windows, but Vista is just horrible. Apple doesn't even hold to target it. They just need to show what a great product they hold.
Apple>Pc.
Because like all appropriate ads they boost their product while not mentioning the hundereds of downsides and do nothing but point out the downsides of the competition. They flea market to the uninformed consumer and focus more on making their products look cool rather than actually fitting. It is sort of like a smear campaign surrounded by politics. considering the Ipod makes up 40% of their total profit, i wouldn't exactly call a 5% notebook market share effective, they are funny commericals, but decisive, i don't think so.
maybe because they try and brand pc look not as good as mac they never show the pros on notebook only the cons It uses humor that all can relate next to. I like to watch them, but nearby is no way I would switch from a pc to a mac.
