Does anyone work for Vector Marketing?

I have an interview tomorrow and i have be hearing that it is a scam and all that. I be just wondering if there be anyone who actually worked for them that likes the company. I be also told that to work there you must BUY the product before they consent to you start working, is this true?

Answers:    I've interviewed with Vector myself before, and have at least two friends that worked for them.

It's not necessarily a SCAM in the worst sense of the word, but it's a poor settlement nonetheless. It's a subcontract position (if you're not making sales, you're not getting paid) AND yes, you do need to buy a set of knife b/c you "need something to demo with for your customers". They may own some payment plan (where the money comes out of your commission), but you definitely DO own to buy a set of their knives.

If you're young or don't own a lot of interview experience, I'd go for the practice of interviewing, but I'd turn them down if they donate you a position - like I said, I've known 2+ society who've worked there, and it never ends well.

Everything above (except forcing you to buy one) go for Kirby vaccuums or any company that sells them as well.

On one final minute, they're a good set of knives and, as an member of staff buying your demo copy, you get a pretty good price on 'em, so if you stipulation a set of knives, 'getting a job' with them, buying the knife, and quitting isn't a bad deal.
It's a multi-level marketing undertaking. (Similar to a pyramid scam). Cutco makes the majority of their money from the demo kits sold to the reps so they are other looking for new reps. They are similar to Amway, Mary Kay, or Avon. Unlike a pyrmid scam they do have an actual product mortal sold. (Only those near the top of the pyramid make a large amount of money.) I am not saying you cannot make money from them, but it is more difficult than a physical sales job, and they cheer you to sell to family and friends which can hurt your relationship next to them.

I work with real sale people at my job (selling TV time) and let compare it to Vector.

Real Sales (from where I work): You get salaried for your training. You get paid a commission. You attain paid a salary for the first six months. You get hold of a cell phone to make the calls needed. You bring back active accounts. You get reimbursed for travel. You go and get benefits. You get pressure to sell.

Vector: You get hold of paid per appointment (I they stop paying after 6 weeks.) You do not get remunerated for training. You do not get accounts, you have to use house and friends. You do not get reimbursed for travel. You do not get benefits. You achieve all the pressures of a real sale job.

And for everyone defending vector, saying "relatives are not working hard enough" ect... ect... this may be true to an extent. I applaud you for your easier said than done work and salesmanship, but you are working to hard for bad money. It would be easier and more profitable to find a product from a whole sales manufacture, and sell your own product and keep 100% of the commission beside out dealing with the shadiness of Vector.

I currently have a friend that purely got hired, which scares me. I own tried to warn her but I think she is quantity of the cult for the time being.

Try typing in Henkels Knives (the prime competition)in google and see what you get. Then try typing in Vector Knives and look at the results.

Think of it this process, if there was not something semi unprincipled going on, scam would not come up very often when you do a google dig out.
I went to the interview when I was younger. I be so exited. Cause they said that I can make 17 bucks an hour. They sell knife and kitchen products. And yes its so gay. THey make you by a knife set for I assume it was 159 bucks. I was so wacky. Not only that. They want you to sale door to door. YOu you would be walking around adjectives day. And you only gain the 17 bucks an hour if you make more in that hour for commission. Than you choose the 17 bucks an hour. Its a scam. They said for the first week they want you to try-out drive. NO PAY BY THE WAY. by selling to your family and friend. SO now they want you to market more knives like the one you freshly bought to your family. WITH no pay. Cause they know you probly won't be capable of sell anyone else. I can't believe them. They want you to go to stranger house and make sales base on commision simply. It was such a waste of time. Pyramid Scam! You do adjectives the work the while management makes adjectives the money. I would look for something else.
