If you filch the cost of the untested present, utter you are selling a sports car worth lb10,000. And you want to upsell some unrestricted extras to the good point of lb1,000 - you would put the mart worth of the coupé up at lb10,500 and give the upsell for with the sole purpose lb500. You win both ways.
I guess it depends what you obligation to upsell. But collectively i'd other work to initially occupy the cost of the upsell into the actual cost of the product so as to craft the supplementary upsell significance appear smaller amount overall - and for this reason more attractive.
Then if the customer starts arguing something like the overall price, and does not want the upsell, you still enjoy lb500 to knock rotten your total Dutch auction price, and thus remain competitive and profitable.
I'm not sure I would even try to presell the upsell in medium exposure.
