What is the relationship between number of pageviews and capacity to monetize through exposure?

e.g. a site next to 1 million pageviews per month should know how to receive $x contained by exposure dollars per month. Does anyone hold any rules of thumb close to that?

Aside from pageviews, a website can set the price of their personal ad rates base on these factor:

- Types of company the site attracts: a site that attracts CEOs can command significantly highly developed rates than a site that attracts young at heart kids looking for free downloads -- even though the second site may attract more pageviews than the first site

- Brand identify: a site that have developed a strong brand and frequently see and mentioned by both online and offline medium such as TV, magazine, the Fourth Estate and radio can command complex price than a site that attracts 10x more traffic but little particular
